|Lena Steinbrenner is the Pastry Chef & Owner of
Lena’s Custom Desserts.
Lena trained as a pastry cook at Westin La Paloma Hotel & Resort where she mastered her skills creating decadent desserts and exquisite pastries along with memorable wedding cakes. Lena worked as a Pastry Chef for Dakota Cafe & Catering Company, Cafe A La Carte (assistant pastry chef), Luna
Bella Restaurant, and Woodland Palms Assisted Living.
In 1999, Lena took two prize ribbons at the Pima County Fair for her original desserts, which you can still sample today.
The Blue Ribbon First Place dessert is called "Butterscotch Tapioca Delight Cake", a very rich tasting dessert inspired by her father.
The Red Ribbon Second Place dessert, "Raspberry Pear Frangipane Tart" was featured in the Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, December 2009 issue.
Lena is inspired by the science and creativity that baking and
pastry-making requires. One of her many challenges has been translating the world of custom desserts to meet the dietary needs of her clients.
